this blog so dusty need to blow off the dust before i start.

to those who didn't know, i just came back from USA 2 weeks ago. My 5 month long Work & Travel program has ended. *boo hoo*. it was a super duper experience, and those of you who still have the chance, should go for it. Word of warning though. DO NOT, i repeat, DO NOT choose The Homestead, that is, if the homestead has decided to recruit people for this summer program again. Yellowstone or Grand Canyon will be a much better choice.

anyway from here on out, i'll let photos do the talking... enjoy.

The Homestead. place where we worked at. looks nice on the outside, falling apart on the inside. hahaa...

where we stayed the first month we were there. crazy heater that doesn't work on cold nights, and melts us during the summer.

we later moved to a much nicer place to stay, with air con, and black music blasting throughout the night.

view from the one of the hotel rooms. i was a housekeeper there so i worked indoors all the time. that's how i know the hotel's falling apart inside. hahaa...

we cook our own meals in the kitchen some times...
i hang out at this old gym alot while i was there. there wasn't very much we could do.

the grocery store a 20-30min walk from where we stay...

my very nice colleague brought me to her beautiful home one day.

4 months flew by and my friend and i started our 1 month of travelling. First stop was Washington DC. This is the Washington Monument.

Statue of Liberty. Obviously, from Washington DC, we went to New York. this place sucks. but Central Park is a MUST GO. and their M&Ms World too.

Next on the list was Boston. This is our guide at Harvard University.

American buffalo. they were everywhere in Yellowstone...

Chiobu ranger on our trail. lucky us always got pretty guides...

Viva Las Vegas! trucks like this one here roamed the streets 24/7.

Every hotel along the Las Vegas strip will greet you with a casino.

cycled across the Golden Gate Bridge. very beautiful view, nice town at the other end.

Alcatraz. A Must-Go when you're in San Francisco. USD 26.00 but well worth it. Can see the places where X-Men:The Last Stand was filmed.

DAY FOUR - GREAT OCEAN ROAD

In the morning, we drove to Sorrento Pier (from Philip Island) to take the car ferry to Queenscliff, from which we can drive along the Great Ocean Road. one car costs $48 to get on the ferry and each passenger needs to pay $7.50, so it's a total of AUD$78 just to cross over to Queenscliff.

we pushed a hungry MT to get timtam from the other car and locked him out. haha! he was standing in the strong, cold and chilly wind for almost one minute trying to get us to open the door for him. haha we were rolling on our seats laughing. Lol.

we spent about an hour on the ferry, on which we played Rummy'Up. the forfeit was for the loser (the last person with the most cards left) to go onto the deck and stand for one minute. Lol. qianhao lost and he had to stand in the cold for one minute! haha i went up for a while before the game, and it was f-r-e-e-z-i-n-g!

we took maps at Queenscliff info centre and drove over to town Torquay for lunch.

there wasnt much (cheap) food to eat, so we settled for fish'n'chips at this seafood place. we bought two family sets and because there wasnt any place to sit in the seafood place (it's like some fresh fish/seafood store), we went back to our cars to eat. and cos the guy packed all the flakes (they call the fish that) n chips, potato cakes, dimsim (their version of dim sum) and drinks in one huge box, we stood outside our cars, took the food and munched on it. haha. pathetic sight!

Then we went over to Aireys Inlet to view the Split Point lighthouse. it's really tall.. at the bottom of the lighthouse, i raised my head and i couldnt see the top of it.. woooo...

so we went over to Lorne to find our hostel :) the YHA was really great!! our accommodation was a beautiful cottage and i slept at the attic! :D there was a window beside my bed (i slept at the top bunk) and when i woke up in the morning the next day, it was beautiful~ but using the toilet is really troublesome cos it's outside our cottage and shared with a few other people. so it's freezing cold, esp early in the morning. haha.

our dinner was pizza and chicken. ahhh it's roast chicken again. ha. but everyone was gorging on the coleslaw, cos we hardly eat any veggies, except the occasional apples/ strawberries we eat. haha.

as per normal, we went out to grab some groceries from the nearby store. and quek (who needs to join alcoholic anonymous soon) bought 2 bottles of wine.

it was nice and warm at the attic cos "hot air rises, cold air sinks"! remember? haha :) hmmm, i love Lorne!

Green Green BBQ -- Success! :) 23 peeps turned up for the barbeque at ah hai's house last night! it started at 4pm and ended at i-dont-know-what-time! the rest were still drinking red wine & chatting after i left at 11.30pm. hahaa. high lah! if i didnt need to work today, i'd have stayed too! lol.

consumed/used:

a total of alot-of-chickenwings, 4 huge sotongs, 3 chunks of fresh fish, 4 slices of stingray, 3 trays of mushrooms, 900g of prawns, 2 corns, 80 otahs, 100(?) satays, 2 cans of sambal chilli sauce, 1.5 bags of charcoal, 2 bags of ice, many bottles of 1.5L softdrinks/milo, 2 bottles of dessert wine, 1 bottle of red wine, chocolate fondue, many fruits, 1 tray of nessa-ong banana cake, 1 tray of nessa-ong brownie, 2 packets of keropok... and other unaccounted-for foodstuff.

well, after exploring it, i realise it was a very good blog!!! it has many videos of the owner and many other ppl signing.. it is a good place for u all to practice receptive skill and maybe can try practicing "sign to voice" skill.. try to understand the signing and form it into proper sentences.. like real terping..

at the same time it is a good source for u all to understand more about the Deaf.. the owner is not born deaf.. she became deaf at the age of 17.. go read her blog.. very touching and inspiring.. cheers..

Oktoberfest~~ High

well, well, well.. those who didnt go for the Oktoberfest @ Clarke Quay, u missed out the fun.. but then again, there is always next year..

a night with sausages, nachos, wedges, jalapenos and most importantly beers!! the music was on, the atmosphere was nice, alcohol in your veins and plenty of food, wat more can u ask for? well, with all those things, u can only get high~~ wohoo~~

well, the night started with some beers and food.. pork knuckle, german sausages and some pickled radish (not sure though).. soon it will turn out to be a hou high night.. with more beers.. singing with strangers, clapping and waving and cheering all the way..

the highlight ~ I took off my shirt in public.. well, i'm not drunk, okay.. just for the contest.. had to eat a German sausage, take off shirt to change to the Oktoberfest shirt (free!!) and then drink a glass of beer.. well, didnt win though.. the consolation prize was nice enuf for us.. a pair of nice glass for beers and also 4 more bottles of beer for us.. wohoo~~ free beer~~ high ar..

it was funny seeing auntie trying to open the bottle of beer.. haha.. even YS (Yuan Suan, yeah, she joined us too) can do it lor.. haha.. auntie, u need more practice.. hahah..

somehow the 'cheers' song and the chicky song stuck in our head cos they keep playing it.. haha.. the uncle behind us was very high too.. and the angmoh behind MT.. fun and high.. the ang moh very spontaneous.. cool~~

Ha this is the first time the great RM is posting and haha its about how i almost got conned ha!
One day, while i was walking in the neighbourhood centre, I got a call from a china lady who wanted to do a survey with me. Thinking that it was academic research, I agreed, for afterall I have experienced the evils of the FYP (Final Year Project). She asked about my age, occupation, whether i heard of Zhong Tian Travel etc. As the reception was not good at my side, I "HUH!?" "Shen ME!?" "ting bu dao!?" like 10 plus times.

The phone call ended and the next day, somebody called, saying super excitedly that i won something in a lucky draw. Over at the caller's side, i can hear that it was rather rowdy, like she was in a place full of people. She asked if i was at the Zhong Tian travel fair, ren shan ren hai over there, how come i am not there, cos i have very luckily won some prize and should go down and collect.

I was puzzled why i would win some prize out of the blue and then she asked me if i recieved a call yesterday to do a survey, i said "yahhhh.........." but i thought it was strange cos the caller today was the same as the person who called me for the survey yesterday. so since she is the person who called me yesterday why is she asking me this question? Then, I concluded it was just lauya marketing gimmick to bait me down to some showroom where i will be persuaded to buy some super expensive stuff after i am given the prize. so i just said i am not free, at work, cant go down.

Then again, the next day, the same lady called me again. She said that since yesterday i was not free to go and collect the prize at a live draw which was witnessed by a certified accountant, she is here today to help faciliate the transfer of the winnings to my account. The accountant is the top ten accountant in hong kong, CHEN FU DI and he will confirm with me the the mode of payment i prefer. After i called that Mr. Chen, i have to call her back to confirm that i confirmed with Mr. Chen. Then i asked what i won, she said i won US$ 50 000. WOH HOLY SHIT! I won that much money. Then i asked again how the hell i won that prize cos yesterday i still din get it how i won the prize, then she said "HUANG XIAO JIE! 你不会到现在还不知道你是怎么赢得这个奖的吧!? *she sounded genuinely surprised* I said ya la! So she said becos of the survey i did, i was entered into a lucky draw automatically, and thats how i won the prize. Then she said "sorry, please hold for a moment, while i pick another call" I heard her talking to some other person over the phone. After her call, she started telling me about what her company does ah, that the company wants to expand into singapore ah, so blah blah blah got to do survey and lucky draw. She also asked about some personal particulars like name, birthdate, ic. i gave it to her, maybe she was trying to confirm i am the right person ma. Then she asked about the bank account no. and which bank i would like my winnings to be transferred to. I told her becos bank account no., you cant do anything with it ma, can only transfer money in.

After i put down the call and told my collegues, Angela told me it was fake la etc. Then after settling down to think about it, i thought it cant be real too cos lucky draws are mostly to attract people to purchase something. So must buy thing first then enter draw ma, no company in the right mind would enter people into mega prize money lucky draw just becos they answered a questionaire. Though there are companies who offer prizes for people who help them do surveys for their research, mostly its just like maybe 100 or 200 bucks, wun go up to 50 000. So i went to call the bank as angela suggest.

Me: sorry i gave my account no. to a dubious source, can i consult you over this
CSO: Did the source tell you you won some lucky draw?
Me: YA!
CSO: OHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh *like this was very common*

Then she told me the bank cant freeze your account or do anything actually. What she can do is to put an alert on my account which is she would not entertain any phone enquires from anybody at all including me. *like it helps* She told me to make a police report and to close my account and start a new one.

So i went to draw out all my money at the atm.

Then later during the day, the person keep calling, 9 times, but i reject all the calls.

I went home and researched on this matter online and found that there have been 122 cases of similar frauds in Singapore and they already conned 1.5 million. *my god, sibei ho tan!* This conman might be from some syndicate that have underground links with triads in Hong Kong and taiwan. That is why they are so organized and professional.

What was impressive with these conmen was :

1. She said she was calling from a live event. And the background from her phone was really rowdy like she was in a travel fair. Other versions from people who received similar calls were that "there was a live telecast of the draw on Channel News Asia, you din watch!? no wonder you think its a fraud". These conmen even dare to use the name of CNA so it puts people's guard down even further

2. She sounded really excited as if i really won a prize

3. She paused during the conversation to take another call. I did not hear carefully what she was talking to the other person cos i was talking to my collegues. but according to Kenny Sia, a guy in malaysia who recieved similar calls, the person will be telling her collegue that "yah yah, i am handling the transfer of the prize money, dun worry" They really put in effort to do show for you loh, really zhuang ye!

4. Nearing the end of the call, she even wanted to explain to me what her company does and their packages and everything. Piang, like you really are from a travel agency.

5. I even recieved an sms from them on the matter that i won the draw and they even provide a website for me to check out. The website was professional looking and the links contained information! You all can check out the website at www.ztly88.com

5. The most zai thing was they called you the day before to ask you to do a survey. Yah there is no such a thing as free lunch in the world ma, but no ah, you din get da free lunch, you won the prize becos you helped us do the survey and becos you did the survey you were entered into the draw.

Actually if i have contacted the accountant as the conman told me to, the accountant would say there is a need for a transaction fee of 1500 which is 2.5% of the winnings. That i must transfer the fee over b4 they can send me the 50 000 and this 1500 will be refunded in 90 min after they recieved it. Like real man si pian zi!

Above is another person who recieved similar calls but this person damn funny sia. He realized it was a trick so he wanted to get back at the conman and in his blog is a detailed hilarious story of what he did and he even recorded it down! Listen to the convo and you will hear how professional these conmen are.

Oh well, it was a pretty exciting experience to be ALMOST CONNED haha! Pls tell your frens and relatives about it. Though this matter has been widely publicised in the paper but i guess many people like me just took a glance at the report and did not read it carefully enough and i think the papers also did not document the conning process that carefully and these people are really good at conning. The bad thing bout getting almost conned is that i have to go draw all my money out, wah lau, jin jia ma fan leh!

Welcome Tea '07

The Welcome Tea '07 for WSC was held on Friday, 24 August at 6.30pm. As usual, our volunteers had prepared a song signing performance for the welcome tea and they were lined up on the stairs waiting for their turn to take the stage... Just look at the smiles on their faces.. They must be really happy and excited to be there... must be relieved that it is finally going to be over.. They really put in a lot of effort into rehearsing for the Welcome Tea and we must really applaud their effort.. *a round of applause*

Of course, there were not only the juniors present.. as you can see here, the seniors are also enjoying themselves.. Chao Wei was rather unprepared when I took this photo.. I risked my life to place this photo here... please do take more time to look at it=p!!

We had several guest of honours!! Zhixuan and Justus were down to support RSPHI!!! Woohoo.. seniors rock!!

I must say that one person had rather high exposure during Welcome Tea.. And that person is the one and only Thong Loon!! He appeared in RSPHI's video and photos. Then again in OVE's and then AGAIN in COR's video and photos.. My, my, I really must congratulate him on his popularity that night!!!!

As you can all see, the first picture on the right captures a rather unglam moment.. Thus, I was made to take another more glam photo of the subjects in the photo (Pat and Kek). However, I made no promises that I wasn't going to publish the unglam photo too... Muahahaha, I am so devious.. I do hope I can return to my room on Monday.. Might find that the lock has changed.. Sigh.. that's the problem with having the subject (Pat) as my roomie...

I think due to the serious deprivation of sleep the two nights before Welcome Tea, because Pat was busy with a lot of stuff.. busy little barney that she is, she was quite chui on that night.. this photo is supposed to spell HI.. But Patty's H is seriously deformed.. Sigh, sleep is really very important guys!!

And yes! We had our little gathering after Welcome Tea!!! The food was great, and we really have one person to thank for that -- KANG JIAN (Chairman cum Logistics cum Welfare cum everything else) !!! Thanks for organising the great event.. We had lots of fun and laughter.. albeit mostly at Ming De's and unfortunately for her, Geneca's expense... Heehee.. For more information, please contact Baoli and Lee Tat.. They will be really pleased to update you on all topics touched on that night!!
Oh yes, the pictures on the left are those people at table 1.. Ming De belongs to table 2 but then he's being extra..

IT was a night of many events - - - it was our BBQ, the theme was RED! and it was raining and so we carried Red umbrellas to shelter ourselves!!! wheeee... and at the end of it all! We celebrate bdays of the new-old babies!!! Huan Huan, Alvin, Rumin, Ming Teck, Zhanzhi and AhHai~~~
Though it may seem very long overdued, its nvr too late to celebrate and to acknowledge that YOU have grown older!!! Whoopies and MANY thanks to your EFFORTS!!

And certainly the theme was red! nvr had there been a theme of RED color and nvr has anyone ever come to a bi bi Q in all tones and shades of RED... Looking from afar, it was a RED sea~~~

AT maxwell market...we tried sth new!!
ADD lime juice to our carrot cake! That hand belongs to youli!! ahha someway to remove her bluey feelings.... But dinner was really filling. Youli had hokkien prawn mee, auntie with her chicken rice, rm had dory fish-ang moh style and ah hai had black pepper char siew mee...then there was the orh-luak too! and this limey carrot cake.

We wanted to go see see wads inside the 佛牙寺 (Buddah's Tooth Relic temple)... and waoh! its very high class ehh... got airconditioning somemore and very tall building in fact... we headed straight up to lvl4, walked up a flight of stairs and saw this roof garden! in the middle there was this giant rotating wheel housed in the middle... Auntie say must move it 3times at least. And so we did..But well, since it was past 8 and its closing... there were many floors which we couldn't view... and soon we returned to ground floor...
Hwhhahaa! you cant really enter the main hall "indecently"!! Look wad youli and rumin had to wear!!-----
ANW we passed by this shop on our way to the Esplanade after leaving the temple...WE guess our luck would be better since we have turned the wheel at the temple!!

And here come a chio-gao-peng incident!! Auntie loves to walk in the front and lead.. though she doesnt quite know the way to the esplanade... AT the UOB plaza, auntie walked rite towards the underground mosque entrance... she must have thought it was the way to the esplanade... hmm nooo i think she thotz it was a places of worship visit outing!!We walked into Fullerton hotel to use the underground passage to get to the esplanade side.. and here we started our series of snapping and role playing scenes.... at the travellator.. and t0 the amusement of some tourists.
We walked the travellator 3-4 times before we were able to get the pictures... Auntie said we hafta get to the other side so we could get bigger images... later RM said lets walk backwards... ANd we did... it was a arrrrh silly move... we 全身是汗 as a result of our "treadmill exercise"..

Yet over at the merlion park ah hai did this!And we finally REACHED the Esplanade... youli could finally go thru some of her BS3!! All the best for thursday's TEST everyone!!

wow!She looked caffeine-intoxicated!! more like drunk leh HO HIGH ARRR!!! But YESH! she agreed to go ktv liao! bcoz she's HO HIGH!!! HO ho ho H I G H!!!

hmmm.. at kBox, nothing interesting but we sang till 3am!!! yeah! we are bia-sters at K-ster!! 2Xs of One Night in Beijing>> Shin-version! WE screeched! screamed!! CRAZY!!!!

our intentions were to go to HK restaurant to wait till morning, but... its NOT OPEN!!AND only opened 24hrs on weekends. And soo...and so we walked to bras brasa mac to eat and stone till 6.

this is about COR!!!!! ahahhaa am abit bored tonight, so doing some updating haha :P but i think mostly gonna be pics ba... and maybe some chio-ga-pengz stuff.. LOL

me and yl in front of our tent. it's sleeping on the rocks man.. luckily my tent got YL and huijun (our fren) who brought sleeping bags!!! then no jutting rocks hahaa... TL and huan complained about the rocks giving them a massage! LOL.. sleeping in the caves was exciting.. the chilly weather when it rains will give abit of feng shi to LKKs! hahaa

that's huanhuan smaller than the rocks.. hahahahaa we say huan huan can "ji3 de4 guo4"! hahaa... can squeeze through the narrow passageways... wohooo!!!

LOL

after the canopy walk, we must sit the boat to cross over to the opposite beach.. then we ate our lunch and wait for the boat to fetch us go rapid shooting!! wahwah, rapid shooting is a wet wet business... at least for our boat. one boat carries about 12 people ah.. then my boat got MT, TL and me plus other people... that TL ah, gang up with the pacwest instructors to splash water at us!! own people attack own people!! then the neighbouring boats which passed us also splashed huge waves of water at us!!!!! haha i rem after the first wave of water that hit MT ah, he shouted "ah!! wo3 de4 tou2 fa3!" (ah! my hair!) hahahhaa i was 2 seats in front of him, i chio-ga-pengz lah... hahaa.... subsequently he keep saying no image le no image le... then after we finally finally 'blow dry' ourselves with the wind, the largest splash of water ever hit us!! it came from WS, des' boat.. dunno who else on that boat, too busy getting attacked cannot spot our enemies!! haha... damn sian lah.. when we kena hit by this 'largest splash' ever, we all tried to backface the coming "wave" cos dun want water to hit our faces or get into our mouths.. nxt moment when we turn back, we see our boat flooding!! the water level covered our shoes wor... damn scary lah.. haha i was sitting with COR secretary juanjuan, then we panicked n keep scooping water out sia!! dun wanna sink n die in the dirty river!!

our main comm!! Wohooooo~~ but the pic abit slanted cos put it on MT's wallet to set timer... so slanty slanty one.. chui.... hahaa

after taking these photos ah, we all had an evil ploy to go taopok everyone!!! hahaha we chiong into the room beside us wanting to taupok chaowei.. haha then after taupoking chaowei, we decided we shouldnt fang4 guo4 the other 2 guys!! haha so we pretended we were going off le.. said our byes, then rushed back and taupoked them! LOL!! it started the taupok frenzy.. then one group of participants also followed us and went around taupoking people.. scary.. they are damn scary.. our "franchised" taupok group ran past the resorts and chiong all the way to someone's room... scary scary... oh then somemore before they 'franchised' our taupok group ah, they made requests for us to taupok people wor.. haha then we told them, we no taupok experts.. maybe thats why they did the taupok business themselves ah!! haha we not pro enough.. Lao3 le... taupok awhile we all seh le.. just nua in huan, MT, WS's room to talk...

Hey!! meet the old ones~~~A story of the LKKs though ...

Jinkso is abt to leave Spore to go to Aussie-land to soak in the golden sun and sip lemonades... and so today, we met up to go to the Singapore Botanic Gardens!!! WHAaaa the rainy weather managed to stop when we reached. And so everywhere was jus cool and more cool!!

So! we today as a farewell event before u fly next sunday.. And the LKKs have really gone LKK and voted to go to the Botanic Gardens (BG) for a picnic. 6 nothing-else-better-to-do but keen to meet ,turned up at Orchard at 1600hr and shopped for the food for picnic!!

we have a few objects de-neh:
(1) go to BGs
(2) snap pics for our scrap book to make for jings
ahha since couldnt meet before hand, then no time, we decided to do things there... to take the pics with gis's poloroid then we do our own page with construction paper and then stick it into the photo-album together.... its an innovative way... it involves everyone, and best of all, its memorable!!

WE headed over Taka's Cold Storage.... and then there was stun#01:

@the chips section, ah hai was commenting on which chips to buy...
" you can get 2 one dollar packets instead of buying the 2 $1.50 chips. This way, spend only $2 instead of $3..."
AT this very moment... cher' having become confused, usual state haha *evilgrins, slipped the box of sushis to the floor!!!

the salmon with the rice fell to the floor........cher + mango + ah hai very stunned...
mango quipped "scope it up loh" and it was quickly packed into our box.... only 3 of us knew wad happen to the sushis.... MUahahahahaha... who ate it.. who LS-ster u become!!!!

Soon after everyone reached BGs!!! none of us could ever recall when was the last time we ever been there... or perhaps we had not even been there before...
We walked thru the gate!! BEAUTIFUL GATES!!!
and followed the path ahead of us, not really knowing wad/where to go.. haha! till we saw this great patch of grass that was not occupied!!...
we tot, "lets camp here!!" all suddenly seemed like somekind of our nomadic lifestyle was finally put to an end.

And all of a sudden, we spotted something familar!! ITs the five dollar tree!!! WHoohoo~~ our five dollar tree stood right in front of us and indisbelieve, we searched for the five dollar note to check if it was the same same tree!!
Five dollar out and tree confirmed its authenticity! Wahhahah... it seemed like we have reached holy land!! haha We saw the tree tat is always on our mm-man note!!!!
WHaaaa this was a sign from heaven arh! We've come to the correct grounds leh....
Laid the mats and our food! we ate, took pictures and went around the field to snap snap.. Test test and here's our first picture:
See more of our prizes.. muahahah天色已开始变黑... we decided to go somewhere to continue the scrap book... and came to the Tanglin Mall's Mac. With many more films still remaining.. we went around snapping some more; the more and the more high we become!! =P
ahhaha!! and look at this>>Since we have decided on each doing a personalised page for the scrap-book, we 出 all kinds of pattern-pattern to outbeat each other...
drawing hearts lah, draw flowers n butterflies lah, use different construction papers la, paste many many stickers when dunno wad else to design lah, cut-here-cut-there lah, use Chinese words to standout frm other designs lah, using French instead lah!! Tis one power siah!! its simply put, pattern 重重 (zhoi zhoi) laaah...

Dear all, today RSPHI held our annual general elections!!!! Woohoo...finally the main comm of 06-07 are stepping down... as we were still rather crazy about our shrek ears, we decided to use this opportunity to add to our collection of photos with ppl wearing them!! check it out..

In this photo, you see ms. chui attacking Vy jie!! Something that is
unprecedented. OMG.. what has gotten over ms. chui??? Well it seems that Vy jie managed to obtain some really special Mayday concert tics that entitles her to autographed copies of Mayday albums.. and ms. chui wants them!!

As you can see.. Our new coordinator has been 'crowned'!!! Congratulations to Barney on having a successor.. =P

MING DE'S du4 dou1!!!!!! We have searched high and low in Singapore for a du4 dou1 to give to our dear Ming De but to no avail... Luckily for us.. the ppl who went to Taiwan managed to find it after much trouble (we would like to extend our sincere thanks to them).. and we see here how eager Ming De is to get to his du4 dou1.. we are so glad to see that our hard work was appreciated... *sniff* =P

And we finally see Ming De triumphantly holding out his du4 dou1 for the world to see.. the expression on his face.. priceless.. he was so touched by our efforts that he almost teared!! Ming De, there is no need to be so ke4 qi4 with us.. what are friends for?!!! =D

Taiwan

Elloz peeps... The trip to taiwan was real fun!!! and it was AHEM.. mission acomplished... all worth it... hhahah

Day 1- Taipei

We were brought to the land of mushrooms, sausages, ah zong mee sua and cha ye dan!!! spent the night at Ximending and we had to search for a hotel for the last few nights.. shall talk abt the hotels later...

Day 2 and 3
Headed to Sun Moon Lake. The place was woohooo!!!! the owner was so good that we felt a little pampered... hahhah... nice scenery... and we missed the sunrise on the second day... hahah... went for hotspring and the mossies fed on chicken little and ibu ... later in the night all of us were screaming for mopiko.... hhahah....ooo yes.. have to mention abt the oh arh jian there.. super uber big oysters tt u cant find in singapore.. shiok!!!

Day 4 and 5

hmm planned to go alishan but changed to kaoshiong instead... the hotel there was hmm ermm.. erhh... thumbs down... very small ... and place felt a little what rm said " hui hui de" (read:dusty) raohe market was a little disappointing also but the stinky beancurd was really stinky there... unlike the one we had at taipei where u cant smell it...we headed to a pub after tt...

there was this guy ... quite friendly .. talked to us and told us some places we can go to.. the boss even hailed a cab for us.. just as we were abt to leave the place we heard someone calling ... "RUMIN!" ws, chicken little and Ibu were a little stunned... who was tt??? HHAHAH ... chio ga peng.. it was tt man who was talking to rm all the while...

head to cheng ching hu the next day and we rented a golf car and chicken little drove it.. steady bom pee pee.. hahhah.... heng nia.. cos it started to rain later... rm was high on singing... hhahah

day 6 and 7

to hualien. it is a must go place!!! the view is superb!!!! i miss the bed at bei lang da dao.. and there was a maid there to do our chores... hmm maybe she looks like someone.. hahha look again then... LOL... i bet all of us miss the ah peh who brought us all ard taroko gorge... ahahhaha.. super friendly also.. and he kept telling us that he wanna bring us to an EXCITinG place.. right??? hahhaha... later in the night we went to light firecrackers... er... i hum chi so end up ws lighted it.. haha later we had a go each... once it was lighted we ran and hid behind the tree... hmm i guess it's really an experience cos we will never get to try it in sg... went to catch fireflies later in the night...

Day 8 to 11

All at taipei... once we got back we headed to the arcade and dumped all our ten dollar coins into the basketball machine...hahahh it's a fad there hahhah... fun!!!!!!!!!!!!! the hotel for the first night was eeeky... so bad that we didnt want to go back to the hotel and we roamed out till as late as possible... it was a little sleezy... the pictures looked ok but when we went up it was totally different... the next 2 nights at the other hotel where we spent our first night was way better....and like what i have said mission accomplished... details will be released soon. hahhahh...

De Tour, Langkawi

yoz.. finally, i'm going to update the Langkawi trip!! just got the pictures from my sister.. but those tat i got r limited.. most is with YX and WS..

sit back, relax and enjoy the chio-ka-pengz entry on the Langkawi!! this entry is based on my memory.. some are extracted from the journal we wrote (which will be in italic)..

where should i start?? so many things to write.. haha.. cos too many things happened le.. LOL

Day 0.. the most memorable will be the Kenny Rogers' macaroni cheese.. cos when it came, it was cold, thus YL snapped her fingers to get the waitress attention.. well, we managed to get another bowl of hot macaroni cheese, but we suspected it got special seasoning, the saliva!! *eww* cos very watery.. we ate it anyway.. haha.. do we look like we will waste food??

the whole trip to Langkawi was not easy.. 10++ hours of bus ride.. i think my butt flat liao!! arrgghh.. the "sampan" (said by Pat) got aircon de!! actually not sampan lah.. is a ferry.. about 45 mins of ferry ride bah.. wohoo~~ the sun, the sea and the beach!!

the very first thing we did at Langkawi was to eat lunch.. haha.. a bit ex though.. well, tourist attraction places are like tat.. next stop was the Four Season Hotel!! haha.. we are not tat rich to stay there!! just passing by only.. and we "sneak" (i think we 'guang ming zhen da' lor) into their private beach.. nice and quiet place.. but YL complained tat there was no hunk at the beach.. haha.. of course we kena chased away lah, cos is a private beach mah.. boohoo~~ thus we went back to our own resort with our own beach too!!!

YX: When we go down there got liao lor.

YL: Then I dont want to be in the same group as u all.

a whole afternoon at the beach with volleyball, frisbee and suntanning.. YL still not tanned after at whole afternoon suntanning.. hahah.. she said one word "气".. haha.. all the sports sure make us hungry!! the COCO Beach Seafood Restaurant.. the food okay!! nice view too.. outdoor dining.. not bad!! fish, crab, prawn!! ooolaalaa~~

2nd day!! WS, Pat and YL 'hou high' ar!! early in the morning went swimming in the pool.. me and YX preferred the bed.. haha.. YX really sleep like a log.. haha.. buffet breakfast was waiting for us though.. i went in the earliest.. haha.. dont want to lose out mah.. but the buffet is okay only lah.. not really very fantastic.. but at least can fill our stomach!! hahah..

went for cable car ride.. and i'm scared of height!! my legs went wobbling.. nothing up at the moutain.. but got very nice scenery!! ooolaalaa~~ can touch the cloud too!!

waterfall was next.. nice view.. very cooling water on a hot sunny day.. "shiok ah!" was the first reaction from WS! and YX fell down here.. well, not a serious fall.. just a slip i think.. haha.. we all a bit dumb.. we all stand and sit at the rocks to sun ourselves dry cos we all forgot to bring extra set of clothes.. haha..

intended to go to the Korean Restaurant next to our resort.. but it looked very suspicious and the whole building very 'lok kok'.. went to this middle eastern restaurant instead.. had this bread thingy which we all forgot the name.. hahha..

well, of course the middle restaurant was not filling.. second stop for dinner will be Jap food!! Unkaizan, (雲)云海山. but Pat read as 雪梅山 because of the traditional chinese writing.. chui leh Pat..

the food was darn nice lah.. service ichiban too!! salmon, chicken teriyaki, soba, vegetable tempuras, steam eggs, miso soup.. ooohlaaalaaa~~ i believed is the best Jap food i ever ate so far!!

ohh.. as we passed by this restaurant called Fat Mum, YL called Pat "Fat Mum".. haha.. then i'm called PapaDum (PapaDumb) cos there is an indian restaurant called Papadum..

YL was either very brave or she was suicidal.. hahha..

oh.. we managed to get back to the resort, in 1 piece.. YL's dangerous driving.. almost knocked into another car cos she didnt check the other side of the road!! scary.. no more YL's driving.. banned!!

2nd night, we went for the pub in the resort.. ordered a bottle of white wine.. RM40.. darts and 'asshole tai-di' again.. hahah.. Huan called Pat "crab" when we returned to the room after drinking.. Pat asked if she's as tanned as a Malay.. Huan exclaimed she's as red as a lobster.. "No wonder I called you crab".. Huan was DRUNK!! Pat gave a huge whack with pillow.. Huan panted very hard.. OMG!! "No exercise after drinking wine!".. chio-ga-pengz!!

we realised tat Pat has talent in TCM.. she found the 笑穴 for YX.. guess where is it?? very well hidden de.. once pressure is exerted through her thick rebonded hair, YX will laughs in a weird way & she rolled off the queen size bed!! chio-ga-pengz

3rd day was for island hopping!! we chartered the whole boat to ourselves!! foohoo~~ but before that we had to resort to various method to wake YX and YL up.. tickling & foot massage!! Pregnant Maiden Lake. Legend has it tat ladies tat bath in there will sure get pregnant!! heng ar.. none of the 3 girls went in for a dip, else me and WS have to be responsible.. it is a very big lake, can swim, paddle some boats, soak your feet and let fishes nibble.. we didnt stop her for long.. cos nothing much to do..

Eagle feeding was next!! the boatman brought us to this place where we can watch eagle.. initially we wanted to skip this but luckily didnt.. there r really a lot of eagles there.. very majestic..

Pulau Beras Basah - literal translation will be Wet Rice Island.. was supposed to snorkle here.. but ended up cannot.. a bit disappointing.. still it was great fun here!! the sun, the sea and the beach!! foohoo~~ swam the whole afternoon.. halfway, suddenly all the ppl gone, only left the 5 of us.. became like our own private island like tat.. haha.. ohh.. we managed to teach YX how to swim.. LOL.. but she took advantage of Pat.. while Pat teaching, she touch her and hug her very very tight.. hahah..

i guess everyone was addicted to swimming.. when back from island hopping, we continue swimming in the pool in the resort.. then we realise YX is Godzilla's relative.. she is Pui-zilla.. she will pui 口水.. haha.. Pat and WS were the victim of her saliva!!

how can we leave out food right.. food is our life!! haha.. Tepanyaki for the last night in the resort!! hahah.. we waited like till 9++ pm then can eat.. wah.. almost fainted due to hunger.. hahah.. the beef and the fish was nice.. the rest was a bit too salty.. is it the Langkawi style tat it is salty?? hahah.. maybe.. another bottle of wine!! this time is red wine.. *ahem* we are not alcoholic!! hhahah.. happy occasion mah.. so must enjoy lah..

we had mask on for the last night.. after all the sun and the sea.. must pamper our face back.. hahha.. =P

last day was just cruising around in the car.. when to this place with lots of yatch.. haha.. YL, when u gonna get one?? LOL whoever tat get a yatch must invite us okay!! hahah.. had our lunch there too.. at this USSR restaurant.. not bad food!! hahah..

ohh... we missed the timing when we were on the trip back.. got onto a later ferry and in the end missed our bus back.. *arrgghh*.. chui.. wasted the bus ticket money.. no choice lor.. have to buy another one.. ohh.. and during last day, Pat a bit sick.. haha.. but okay lah.. i think is the sun, hot and the water cool, hot and cool.. then later sick.. hahah..

did i miss out anything?? i think i missed out alot of things leh.. it seems alot of things happen.. but how come this entry only so short?? hmmm.. YX, YL, Pat, WS, add in if i missed out anything.. hehehe.. everyone else, envious?? haha.. you all can organise again.. i dont mind going again.. but i want to stay Four Season Hotel!! hahah..

day1 - 26april 07
things we did the airport - the LKKs acting old and at the duty free shops.. LKKs in fashion parade!! woch out for the summer season's felt cap and bumble bee sunglasses!!

woohoo!! feel like celebrities when we walk to our 'private jet'!! muahahahaaa -waves-

this is lunch! at a german restaurant... mamma mia~~ the food is salivating! look at the sausage... the meatballs and pork knuckles are also very tender and soft.... and there is ah hai's carbonara spaghetti which is super creamy..

Notre Dame Cathedral... the interior is very nice.. the colours n drawings on the tainted glass are very brilliant and exquisite.. didnt take photos of them though..

the Buu Dien central post office:

as we were walking back from the cathedral area, this girl was trying to sell roses to ws.. she stalked him! hahaa.. followed him across dunno how many streets, then overtook him to wait for him at a corner to pester him to buy flowers! haha and when he say he really dun want then the girl beat(smack~~臭男人) him and walked away! hahahahah!!!

then we walked past this fountain thingy and the lights are very pretty! see the background of this photo.. we attempted to take pics of ourselves but haiyah, cannot capture the beautiful lights..

walked to Diamond Plaza to walk walk and for the air con cos the weather was damn warm... then it was arcade time! haha bishi bashi!!

went to this famous vietnamese restaurant Lemongrass to eat authentic viet food! there was this spring roll that contained raw vegetables and shrimps... and this left a scar on ah hai!! he has a traumatising experience with this spring roll... he couldnt stand the taste of the raw veggie and then subsequent nights he keep saying he smell that veggie! even in the hotel room after ws bathe le then he still say he smell it... then when we went to this bar Manna the next night, he also claimed he smell the veggie in the mocktail! hahahahaa.... see our faces when we attempt to conquer the springroll....

wanted to walk along the Saigon river/ wharf so we tried to cross the super super busy road from where we were at Dong Khoi... it was mad... the bikes and vehicles refuse to stop and they just keep streaming past us... we had a very hard time before we crossed the road!! scary traffic in Vietnam! then turned out that the riverside had not much.. haha all the floatin restaurants out to 'kah3' (cheat) tourists.. and an atmosphere of thick longkang smell!! so we had to cross back! hahaa.. we saw this big group of tourists crossing back to their hotel on the opp side of the river and we ran like crazy to catch up with them so that we can cross with them but by the time we ran there they already crossed the road.. but this kind local who we think work at the hotel led us to cross the road.. haha scary! and after that, we've learnt to just walk across the road! dont 'hum ji'!! haha now back in singapore must use traffic lights and the cars move faster, feel abit not used to it.. haha and we missed being honked at!! Being honked is like given a complimentary weewee from the drivers... muhahaaa

so we crossed over and decided to go lim kopi at Gloria Jeans.. and then here goes our funny chio-ga-peng photos! ahaha or maybe only we 4 think it's funny.. everytime see these 4 photos will laugh out..

we thought ah hai's caramel coffee so cheap leh! cheaper than kopi tiam! cos we saw '50,00' --> we thought the person key wrongly, key as 5000 dong! haha but yuan lai the other zero is at the bottom! haha

and we have debrief sessions every night by our head of family - ibu.. haha
ibu always say "tighten ur purse strings!! and lights out!!" ahha bluff one laa... See tis pic where ibu looks sooo patriarchial...

day2 27apr07
in the morning i woke up with something feeling stuck in my stomach... then before i even took breakfast, i puked! and that marked the start of my pukey day..

we realised from the first day that vietnamese can carry everything and ANYTHING!!! from big water bottles, TV, shelves, basically anything!!!

even the people they also can carry more than 2... so unlike singapore. and they dont wear helmets. haha. and some even wore those arm guards / gloves to protect their hands /arms against the sunlight. haha!! took us some time before we could make up the whole collection of photos of people on bikes...

then we went over to Cu Chi Tunnels... muahaaha quite fun eh! the tunnels are so small we had to duck walk while crawling... then the entrance is so so tiny we thought this tourist who was quite fat will get stuck cos he enthusiastically just went down the entrance.. haha but when he wanted to get out his tummy abit stuck.. hahaha!!

one very malu incident at the Cu Chi Tunnels shooting range... we bought 5 bullets for the range to biang biang**. First WS shoot liao okay... next came YX... she was there sooo long!! not becoz did not know how to aim and fire... instead, it all went like this:

mad zi pai-ing sessions... hahaa

After the Cu Chi Tunnels session... all of us were sooo tak-boleh-tahan!! we need our hotels! we need our baths! we need new clothes!! And we want to wear only slippers!!

flip flip and flop flop we made our way down Mac Thi Buoi and Dong Khoi.. and found ourselves a Korean Restaurant - Seoul House.. ordered a Seafood pancake, Korean hand roll, some soup with bacon meant to help hangover, and steam dumplings!! GOSH! this restaurant served appetizers too!! And there came bowls and plates and more dishes of kimchi, tofu, some rice cake and some spicy pickled orangy unknown veges which only ibu attempted to swallow down her throat...

Ah chui loved her kimchi soo much that she would gulp alot of water frm her 1L water bottle after ever bite. Man!! she was a camel!! she drank more than half the bottle jus eating the kimchi... in the end, the bottle mouth had tis super stenchy garlicy smell which chased away any contenders to drink water frm her water bottle... tsk tsk tsk... the kimchi is DAMN GOOD!!! so good i cant stop eating it.... yumyumyum!

Thereafter we headed over to the Ben Thanh Market... soo ben4 dan4 (笨蛋笨蛋笨蛋笨蛋).. we had been kah3 siah~~~ yet we din even realised till we return the next day!! But well, Ben Thanh should be considered only a place that tourists would unknowingly go to. Because this is the place where the stuffs are "CHEAP" (cheaper than here but well, the Im******* mah) Ahha got even cheaper ones jus rite outside 笨蛋market. But!! its really a big place where many things are sold under one big 笨蛋 roof! haha got souvenirs of all kinds where we bought chopsticks, purses and etcetc.. You can also find the authentic Vietnam ca phe (coffee) and all kinds of bags (40L 50L 60L) and dry fit shirts!! Addidas, Nike, Puma... blahblahblah... Go there to see see and haha Try your hardest to negotiate the price they offer to a quarter of it!! Cautions!! Else, go outside of 笨蛋 and u can find lower offer prices man!! Dont get kah3; dont get lao1 by them!!

On our way back, we decided to try out the Russian Restaurant!! ZEBRA restaurant!! whoopie!! Vietnam trip was meant to try out something unique and not readily available here! HAHA look at their menus and u certainly can find many Authentic and Unique dishes - Grilled Bloody Shells, Grilled Wildboar in 5 Flavors, Deep Fried Crocodile!!! Challenging menus bah!! We ordered Russian popiah - undeterred frm the Viet popiah aftermath, Russian tomato soup with mayo, Russian crab salad!! and Hanoi fried rice!! Hey there was a Singapore style fried noodles under their pasta section! hmm how is Spore linked to Russian... hahahaa.. there were like 3 flies hovering over ibu's head! hahaha apparently ah hai attempted to hit ibu's head with his spoon which he used to eat the crab salad! muahahaa... ANW the Russian food was SOO good! we gave many many many countless THUMBS up, we could critically amassed the no. of thumbs we could find on the table and took this pic! Food was bery Cheap! and Yummy! Remember! Zebra Restaurant!!We headed down for a nite walk walk since it was still early and eventually found a place to rest our legs at Manna for some drinks!! Haha we were practically the most Lok Kok-ly dressed patrons that nite - in tees, berms/shorts and Slippers!! We ordered some green slim Mocktails... hahaha reminds me of the previous nite's popiah haunt!! i had to practically use my teeth n lips to stop the minced greenish slims from seeping into my mouth while drinking the apple mocktails. haha Chui!! bcoz some still to slipped past the double "defense"... the popiah ghoul was immediately paralyzing!!! We also saw tis duo whom we presume they were GAY!! haha and while trying to eavesdrop, my hard of hearing ear only managed to catch the word "sexy" from one of them while they were looking at the fashion show frm the LCD screen... presumably they work in the fashion industry.. haha wads soo sexy then?? lets try to bitch around!! whoohoo!! ones an angmoh and the other hmm... some asian...

day 3 28apr07
Mekong Delta River Tour and the day of meeting some BIG shots!!!

The river tour was rather educational, less interesting except the horse cart ride and the sampan cruise!! ahah! ohh yeah! we ate this HUGE prawn for lunch!! prawns so big that they have pincer-arms!! They also recommended some elephant ear fish which was fried and to be eaten in the popiah style.. HAHA yeah popiah style with their lemongrass and veges dressing.. hahah nooonooo we din try... it was soo BIG, imagine an elephant's ear!!! because it looks like the elephants ear...

On the river cruise we met tis old couple, the man claimed to be Su Guan Ning's Hwa Chong classmate and somewad they seemed to be some bigshot frm somewhere too, though they nvr exactly say where they come frm, but his many attempts to discuss topics related to some Canadian University which has some global immersion program with NTU and how they tried to recruit post grad students to do their programs, im sure he must be someone BIG from there!! and his wife we came over to Vietnam for conferences, shouldn't be ruled out as some fry either.. And so, Dr Su's mother taught Biology at Hwa Chong back then and his father taught at Catholic High! And they recommended us to go to nha hang tu chon Ngon restaurant to try out the buffet which was GOOD... haha it was along this super long Le Thanh Ton street which has houses numbering to hundred and seventy something and our address was 25 Le Thanh Ton!! imagine how far away!!!! whish~~~

Both tired and hungry frm the Mekong Delta cruise we decided to quicken our pace so we could reach house no.25 earlier. haha Ibu was soo focused to eat that she nearly missed 2 vehicles coming out frm the alley ways... We found the place after somewad 10-20 mins walk frm Ben Thanh and having asked numerous locals along the Le Thanh Ton street!! Chuii... it was soooo long a road that we passed by the Reunification Palace!! couldnt take the whole palace in one shot, so had to stitch the photos up.. it's SUPER HUGE lah!

Haha at the restaurant the grilled prawns and sotong were sooo marvelliciously YUMYUM!! but then they ran out of sotongs le.. so each of us only ate one stick. thinking about it now makes me salivate!!

We passed a Jap Restaurant along the way back and the hou high spirit suggest we might as well go in to try since ah chui was craving sashimi already!! HAHA it was another meet the BIG shotss sessions plus some very malu-ating moments... hahaha!! But Oshima is definitely the BEST Jappy Restaurant we had ever gone to in our lives! We SOMBA!! ITS the BEST!! Norwegian flown in salmon fish... (and the Jap Rest owner kept one salmon as his pet fish!!) tats sooo soft and yummy and (let ah chui describe bcoz i know its good and i only know how to drop food into my mouth and swollow). oooh the salmon was so soft, it kinda just melted in our mouths after you put it inside.. those who went to miramar jap restaurant the other time, it's far better than that!!! and better than the JB jap buffet also!! it's heavenly!! drop from the sky de salmon sashimi! And one plate with only 5 pieces costs SDG6.50!!! We had hot SAKE and teriyaki sotong.. ANd HAHA they too serve appetizers..

And so the malu moments were about to come.. Read closely...

One of the big shots, this UK guy who had been straddling between Spore, HK and HCMC offered to let us order this not-in-the-menu dish, shortly after we made our orders. ITs some sushi which has avocardo, salmon sashimi, cripsy fried salmon skin and crab meat... cant really remember well.. but, imagine!! "its not in the menu... " it must be only offered to some BIG shots or close frens of the Jap Rest owner or it could be priced at some heavenly figures.. Yeah the UK guy and tis other asian who manages the Biggest and Most expensive hotel in Nha Thrang (600USD per room per nite) were regular at Oshima we guessed. We asked and realised that one sushi stick costs 14SGD!! WAH! tats a damn good most expensive sushi roll that we could have eaten man!!

OF course we had more than enough money to foot the bill! There were 200USD in the pocket! but not knowing why, we decided to count the remaining Dong we had, though we know the amount we had was also more than enough to foot the bill... but CHUI!!! the waiters and waitress saw us counting our notes and fumbling around, because the numerations were too big and confusing and that we counted and recounted and pass around for recount and then rearranged in notes' denumerations... They suddenly looked soo delighted, some giggled and tried very hard to suppress their laughs, and came running down another chief from above to see wad was happening. He tried very hard to suppress his laughter also! KNN... ahahhahaa anw they din asked if we wanted tat special sushi anymore.. ahha perhaps they really tot we were poor.. hahaha

oh the rich businessmen asked if we were all same age.. haha then we said ah hai oldest..

bizman: so he's like the father figure of your group?
us: papa hai!! -signs 2 times 2 'P's on our 2 temples -> then both hands sign 'H' 'A' 'I' from covering eyes to revealing the eyes (ending with the 'i' at the end)- hoho, ah hai's new sign name sia!

and also dunno why ibu disown ah hai in vietnam!... haha i cant rem why! i think maybe because of the flies thingy from yesterday!!

We continued our nite walk around the area and saw a Spanish restaurant... Pacharan.. haha CUFL continues.... whoohoo~~~... But kitchen had closed and so it was time for ice creme anw!!

we returned and gathered at ibus room for our expenditure debriefing session.. we Spent a million day tat day!! Finished 100SGD alone for dinner... haha!! WE EAT aLOT!! Later we moved over to our room where ibu stole my pillow before she left!! We made a touching video abt leaving Vietnam, the motherland!! And lights off!!

ah hai did something really chio-ga-pengz in our room manz! he said the corner of his mouth was sore, i think swollen or split or po4 pi2 (peeling) ah... this was his convo with ibu:

hai: ibu u got mopiko?
ibu: u kena bitten ah?

hai: noooo~ my mouth zhong3 (swell)
ibu: nono!! mopiko is for mosquito bites!! cannot use on mouth!

hai: i dont care!! i want mopiko!!
*ibu already clutching her tummy in pain having laughing fits..*

hai: ibu! u rather laugh at me then gimme mopiko! you jian4 si3 bu4 jiu4!! (see me die also dont wanna save me)

*me and ibu bursting out in laughter and still refusing to give ah hai mopiko*

then after that, we went over to ah hai and ws' room to nua cos laugh until very high liao.. haha.. ah hai then made a touching video about leaving his motherland - vietnam... i think we lost the video! must be an evil plot by ah hai to delete the precious footage..

Day4 29apr07

Our flight timing was 1250 and the hotel taxi service would come at 9am. We realised we would not be doing anything much.. Thus, we decided to wake up earlier and go eat PHO24!! A Vietnamese restaurant selling rice noodles.. hmm the think kuey tiao looking thing hah, dunno why i always call it the stick noodle.. thai version. ANW its a franchised!! First ever franchised restaurant you could find in Vietnam except for KFC, Pizza Hut and hmm Lotteria, which is their only version of MacDonald. They Dont have Mac!! Except for Mac Thi Buoi~~ HAah! Heeey its pronounced "fur -24" not pho-O with the O sound okay.. mai lao kui when u go there.
The pho tastes GREAT! ahha We had ca phe too! Finally some Vietnam coffee! hmm.. it sorta tastes creamer, not bcoz of the condensed milk added or wad, its just that is not soo watery looking compare to our Nescafe.. it does look Thick in terms of texture! haha and denser, haha describe it as silky looking. ITs got this earthly sense and not too acidic/ sour. Good coffee but different for our usual taste buds! Worthy of TRY!!! mai hum chi like Ah Chui okay!!

Trip back to Spore was erm... plain and okay, we posed for some pictures and HEY! i must reiterate! IM Locale okay! Dont mistake me siah!!

comments from yx: hahahaa! on the plane ah hai helped the viet lady beside him to ask for a singapore immigration card.. he showed the steward '1' indicating he needs one card and pointed to the lady beside him. but then the steward gave him TWO cards! hahahaa so he is the true blue vietnamese manz... somemore the first day he wore such a vietnamese looking shirt... wohooO!! trying to hun4 into the local culture~~

then after we landed i said "yay!! we're home!", but ngyuen said "yay!! holiday!!" hahahaa.... we all chio-ga-peng.. welcome to singapore, ngyuen chi hai! and thanks for the accommodation in your motherland! hahaa nice place over there~!

HOTSTUFF recipe: Cheese and HAM Sandwich

Headnote: Now will be busy period for most of you all. Rushing reports, busy studying, finalising FYP etc. Well, this simple and easy recipe will sure come in handy when you are hungry. Bon Appétit.

Ingredients

1/2 pound [227 g] finely chopped cooked HAM

1/4 pound [113 g] freshly grated Cheddar cheese

1/4 pound [113 g] mayonnaise

2 tablespoons [30 mL] Dijon mustard

1 small dill pickle, minced

Pepper

2 slices rye bread +
tomato slices
or
1 pita bread +
lettuce strips

Preparation

Mix together HAM, cheese, mayonnaise, Dijon mustard and pickle.
Pepper to taste.
Spread mixture over one slice of bread, garnish with tomato slices and then top with remaining slice of bread, or spread mixture into pita bread and garnish with lettuce trips.

long long time ago.. in a far away land called NTU.. there was a girl called YL.. *bleh* if i continue like tat i'll die.. haha..

alright.. lets get down to business.. the part 2 to YL's b-day celebration!! but before tat, wanna apologised to WS.. not tat we dont wanna have part 2 to your b-day celebration.. it just tat, it happen too impromtu!! read on and u all will know the whole story!!

okay.. where did YX stop?! ohh ohh.. at the fruit cake.. well, after the fruit cake, we all went to woch Music and Lyrics.. simply visit Ibu's or YX's blog for the review.. i'm not gonna do tat here.. after the movie everyone tried to catch last train.. but unfortunately, TL, Ibu, YL and me cannot get into last train!!! so we decided to take bus instead.. managed to get into 502 (last bus wor)..

it all started when *dont know who* said wanna eat.. then everyone agreed and started thinking of a place to go to!! so impromtu!! thus we alighted near Cineleisure and headed to the 24 hours hong kong cafe there..

wat we do there?? hmmm... talking, singing K, eating, drinking, "interrogating", gossiping, photo taking, fall asleep, joking around, stoning, walking, breakfast-ing, getting lost etc etc..

talking - well, just plain talking! 闲聊

singing K - well, the cafe played alot of songs tat r easy to sing along.. sun yan zi, fan fan etc etc.. we r a bunch of love-to-sing-but-maybe-will-sing-it-out-of-tune-and-still-heck-care-and-continue-to-sing ppl.. haha.. wohoo~~ KTV anyone??

eating and drinking - do i need to explain this one?? fine fine, since u all wanna know.. Ibu and me had cincau, YL had barley drink, TL had teh kao.. then later i had french toast!! =P

"interrogating" - well, we r a bunch of love-to-gossip ppl too.. so we were like interrogating each other about their love life, wat type of ppl they looking for, y they not in relationship yet and stuff like tat.. things tat got to do with the matter of the heart..

gossiping - need i explain? if u r 问心无愧 then we wont gossip about u.. but mainly we were gossiping about who is with who, who like who etc etc..

photo taking - camera-whoring.. a term my friend always use.. meaning, whenever u see a camera, u cannot resist it.. just look at the amount of photos in this entry and u all will understand!! these r just the photos in my phone.. YL's phone got more!!

fall asleep - basically only me and YL fall asleep.. TL had his teh kao, so he can withstand till the next morning!! Ibu also strong!! can last till next morning!!

joking around - fun loving ppl always love to joke.. joke about alots of things.. cannot really remember but all i can remember is it was super fun!! not stop laughing session!!

stoning - did we stone?? really cannot remember!!

walking - did alot of walking.. anyone tried to walk from Cineleisure to Maxwell market in Chinatown before? well, tat was the distance we covered!! it all started from Ibu.. she crazed for the porridge in Maxwell market.. thus we set off from Cineleisure to Maxwell market.. walked all the way there man.. Ibu was so focused on getting her porridge.. she walked so fast.. *pant pant* *out of breath* neeway, we also a bunch of food-lover-and-willing-to-travel-to-anywhere-just-to-eat-good-food ppl.. hehehe

Ibu was so happy tat she suddenly jumped!! but she looked scary in this photo.. looked like some ghost like tat..

breakfast-ing - wohoo~~ the walking paid off.. rewarded with the famous and delicious porridge of Maxwell market!! yum yum..

Look at the empty bowl and the long queue and u'll know how nice the porridge is!!

getting lost - we were blessed by the spirit of rock-chick.. we get lost around Raffles area when we were trying to get back to get some sleep.. proof? see, we bumped into this rock-chick statue!! the-almighty-rock-chick-tat-will-bless-u-so-tat-u-will-lost statue

ohh.. these whole things lasted from 12.45 am when we reached the cafe till around 8++ am.. wohoo~~ quoted from YL 'hou high'!!!

Didnt realise I had IBU's present-receiving photos with me until I checked my camera just now, so here they are:

ibu finally got her Triumph in the Skies and her leng3 chai2!!! hahahaa

happy bdae to YL and WS! we celebrated their bdae at PS foodcourt - everyone was turning around and looking at us cos we sang bdae song.. though we didnt sing it loudly, but the size of our crowd was enough to occupy more than 3 tables.. hahaa so abit of commotion and curious looks shot at us.. Hope you guys like your pressies!

Yours truly went to interview our two 'leads' and they are grateful for our celebration and presents. On a side note, I reckon the cake tastes good. Yum. I hope youli satisfied her craving for fruit cake.

WS says, "i really appreciate the present.. and i like it."

Sinseh Youli seemed very high over the receipt of her present, probably because it's her 21st birthday present. "Really appreciate it and super glad that im part of the big family! New Year's Eve @ the Airport!! how many ppl will do tat?? i guess it is another one of those crazy idea of us.. as usual, it involved 2 important things.. first - 1 whole big gang of ppl, second - food (and i meant alot of food)!! a whole day of food.. from famous Casaurina Rd prata to Bedok hawkers to Chompang.. can you imagine how many food we ate??

realise tat RSPHI ppl r weird weird... well, wats new in RSPHI, man!!! to prove my point, please read the following!!

wat else do we do?? hmmm... how about trying to take some pictures for our personal mtv?? is it crazy enuf?? or trying to bite off the "fake" candies from Christmas deco?? or trying to eat the carrot of the snowman's nose?? hahahah... or wearing a pink dustbin for a hat and holding on to pink bag?? =)

Toys 'R Us trip on 19 Dec

On the 19th Dec...after Xmas ss... we(TL, Jiahuan, Min Yee and yours truly) went to tampines mall's toys r us and had a great time there doing our usual silly stuff..as you can see from the many pics, we amused ourselves greatly by posing with many of the toys in the shop....=] Might i add that Jia huan and TL are always very willing to pose for the camera.. makes things easier on the photographer(yours truly again)... thanks for your contributions to this post!!
