CUFL (July 06) Part 1
Dear associates,
I apologise for the late report on our business trip to KL.

We set off to KL on Sri Maju bus from golden mile complex - the place of the thai smell. spent about 4 hours on the bus awake despite numerous attempts to catch a wink. it was rather horrible as the humming of the engine kept me awake. i do not know the reason why the 3 of them did not sleep. but the journey was long and time was spent chatting in the dark. weird.
after walking from hotels to hotels (read: long distances) in the wee hours of the morning, we finally decided to settle down at Star Town Inn.

and the time reads:

sad to say, our 1-double-bed-1-single-bed-for-130-RM room was infested with baby cockroaches. it was a terror when i first saw it. however, soon enough, i've gotten used to it. i even slept soundly on the bed which had baby xiao qiangs crawling at the bed frame. I guess fatigue has taken the better of us. we rested for about 1 or 2 hours before we began our journey around KL!
first we set off to the Imbi LRT station near our hotel (the station was opp times square) and the 3 guys posed for a photo:

we took the LRT to the KLCC station where we decided to conquer the Petronas Twin Towers! The building was right in sight. wait for the quadraplex!

after much dust from the roads and honking of cars, we finally reached the petronas. seeing the long queue for the tickets to go on the bridge, we decided taht breakfast has proven to be more important. thinking that we could come back for the tickets later, we set off to the shopping complex part to makan.
Uncle heng was all smiles as we ride on the escalator to eating our breakfast. (i am having unknown difficulty posing uncle heng's photo, i suspect it has something to do with the subject.) Hence, i shall present what our you yu wang zi is doing early in the morning.

the photo which i had trouble posting.

uncle heng was disappointed as he realised that his WANTAN from this hk stall in the food court might not be pork since malaysia is a halal country - a drastic drop from his high expectatoin of the wantan being similar to that in hong kong, the place of wantan. awww poor uncle heng, TIKU TIKU.

returning from our breakfast, we were shocked taht there were no more queue for the sky bridge in petronas. we learnt that the queue starts at 7am and usually it will be all given out after about 2 hours. without the real bridge to take photos on, uncle heng taught us a new method of obtaining valuable petronas photos derived from his previous KL trip:

Serious throwing of face was done in the foreign land. uncle thong discovered a machine that captures your movements but at a lagging speed. please view the video below to see for yourself.
and out we went into the sun to take photos. this is my proudest picture of the entire kl trip:

merely a few hours after our breakfast, we could not resist the temptation of munching onto A&W - rare, sorry i meant extinct, in singapore. all the 3 uncles took a meal each and we shared waffles and drank huge gulps of rootbeer from our mugs. what an excellent way to spend our time in KL - eating our time away. and this probably marked the start of the highlight of our entire KL trip - CUFL (Jul06). Challenge Ur Food Limits. can also be abbrev. for Challenge Ur Foot Limits. haha.
next stop was Mid Valley Megamall. as estimated by Uncle heng and uncle neo, the size of mid valley is larger than wisma+taka+ngee ann city. we took quite some time to comb the whole place but still did not cover the entire shopping mall. deciding to take a rest from the hectic schedule, we rested our feet at Dunkin' Donuts. the initial plan was to drink coffee as we were all close to falling asleep. uncle thong (dunno whether fortunate or unfortunate) saw the menu indicating that a coffe + 2 donuts cost 6.60 RM while 1 coffee costs 5.50 RM. and 2 donuts (or issit 1 donut?) cost 1.90 RM. hence it would be a fairly good deal to purchase 4 coffees + 8 donuts.
so back came 8 donuts and 4 cups of coffee. the donuts look rather appetising; flavours ranging from choc mint, double choc, and even had a smiley face one.

CUFL continues. and the battle was between uncle thong and me as we fight to not be the last to finish our share of donuts. i almost puked while battling it out and hence i was sadly eliminated from this round. uncle thong proved to be the last then! haha.
and almighty Ntu has got itself a canteen A branch in KL. wonderful.

here we are at the streets of Bangsar. and some map checking is needed as we see no active night life in the famous bangsar streets.

as uncle heng prepares to leave kl for his convocation the next day, we send him a farewell gift.

--> a photo of our feet writing our "Z" "H". "You are the last to finish your food, I'm sorry but you're eliminated".
