The Tumultuous Trip to Settlers' Cafe
This is Grace, reporting after the tumultuous trip to Settlers' Cafe.
First off, the yummy food of Ghim Moh 24 hours Kopi Tiam. GUGUGUGU Heng and Uncle LeeTat had the BaChou Mee and Meekia and proclaimed it to be cheap and good. Uncle Neo joined us later and had the Soya Chicken Rice. Ah Chui and I are glad to say that their Horlicks, Milo and Teh Beng is GAO!! Unlike a certain stall located near Chinese Garden MRT Station, whose name I shall not mention here.
After lunch, we made our way to the famous Settlers' Cafe. The location of this Cafe is quite tricky as it seems to sit in the heart of the neighbourhood, the most unlikely place for a shop like that to be. The 5 of us only know it to be at Block 15 (something which we'd regret later). So, with the help of an uncle at the mama shop, off we go to Blk 15.
On our way, we realised that we are heading towards a block of HDB flats. We began to doubt the legality of Settlers' Cafe, wondering if there will be police raids in the middle of our games. Due to my vast experience, I asked them if this is the right road, Uncle Heng checked the postboxes and realised that we are at Ghim Moh Road Blk 15 instead of Holland Drive Blk 15!!!
Yes, hollanding has its uses as well. I shall repeat that I happen to be very streetwise under crisis. So off we move on to the correct place. On our way there, we couldn't help but wonder what would happen if we'd really went up to the 2nd level and there is indeed such a unit number....
Ding Donnggg...
Harassed Housewife (with spatula in her hand) :What you want?
We :Hi, we've reserved seats for 10 =)
Harassed Housewife :What seats? We don't sell no seats!!
..............-_-!!!
Uncle LeeTat's thoughts are more of a exotic masseur type. To be fair, Uncle LeeTat did say that we are at the wrong side, but a certain Uncle Heng is leading the way, going around looking for the legendary swimming pool that will lead us to our destination (which is at the other side of Holland V).
Then we had to wait for Aunti Nessa and Aunti Patty along the roadside where we are enaged in a battle of tikuing. Both of them had lead us horlanding along the way once or twice. An official challenge has been issued. We shall see which one of us can consecutively tiku Ah Chui the most number of time. This challenge shall end next year when we graduate.
So there we are at Settlers' Cafe, Uncle MingTeck and Ah Bird joined us subsequently. Uncle Heng went to fetch Ah Bird, bringing along a brolly. We were thinking of romantic thoughts with both of them sharing an umbrella when AH Bird turned up alone. Uncle Heng has failed to meet up with Ah Bird......-_-!!!
We played various games the most memorable being Pits as we employed the use of hammer. My poor fingers are still feeling the pain from Uncle MingTeck's strike. Of unknown reasons, during one of the strikes, one of the lousy hammer's side came off, through no fault of the user. The hammer must be feeling the heat from the previous users. Uncle LeeTat managed to revive the poor hammer.
Jungle Speed was also played and Uncle Neo almost collected all of our cards. His powess in this game is unbeatable indeed.
We played a couple balancing games as well. Fun, but hard to set up. Ah Chui and Uncle Heng appear to be the worst at this sort of games. Hahahaha...
The last game we played was some farm animals game. Each of us are supposed to pick an animal mascot from the bag without letting anyone know what it is. Next we are supposed to create a sound for that animal. Off we go and Uncle Neo took an extremely long time before coming up with 'mooooo...' for his animal. A round of applause for him please. But that day's zui jia gao xiao jiang goes to Uncle Heng, who goes 'mehhhhh.....' when it's his turn. Imagine our surprise when Ah Bird (who was sitting beside him) goes 'mehhhhhh....' as well. The gamekeeper who was guiding us through the game was baffled. He took a peek at Uncle Heng's animal and declared it not a sheep. At this point in time, we were all rolling on the floor, laughing our heads off. Finally, it was decided that Uncle Heng's animal should give out a 'neighhhhhh' sound. I truly pity the gamekeepers who had to guide us through the games.
Uncle Heng shall tell you more about WalaWala when he comes down from his highness. I think someone should tell the rest about the food as well. The famous XO fish head (which, in my opinion, has no XO) and the rest of the scrumptuous food which, sadly, I didn't get to eat because I was too full from fish and chips... ahhhhhhhhh......
Also, I'd like to add that I was vastly disappointed when not a single person was kneeling nor bowing (with the exception of Uncle Neo) when I was walking down the streets of Holland Village.

Part2.
Lets take a look at this picture before we continue on Wala Wala.
The mighty strength of the Queen... caught in the act.
After Settlers' Cafe, we went for dinner at the famous Holland XO Fish Head. I must say my luck with fish is bad. There were so many bones in my tiny piece that there were no other who had to spit out the bones more than i had to.. I shall eat fillet and fish slices from now on..
Wala Wala was really crowded from 7pm. Luckily we heeded to Uncle Neo's concern about the crowd at Wala Wala, especially, on a Friday nite. We had hoegaarden beer in jugs which i did not count how many we actually had. It was a one for one before 9pm. Ah Bird needed LT to tell her that one for one actually meant buy one get one free.... =P
Time passed by quite quickly, partly because the music was great, and that we just continued drinking on and on through the night. We had definitely gotten high last night but it was certainly the only place to be! I suppose that it had been the campanion too! Muahaha we rock!
The band was wonderful but less one thing... the speaker on our side was too loud. Haha... Just as Uncle Neo had signed "Thank God we know signing". Earlier, we tried shouting into each others ear until our voice grown coarse. We realised it was more "effective communication" to sign. *Smirk!! We know signing!! HOHOHO! SAY say say~~~ I say, WALA Wala is Great and the best way to round up our trip to the Queen's homeland and to round up this week!
BOW* we bow to our queen.
